“All of our regional investments are designed to help our dealers, to add value and support their business growth,” said John Olejniczak, general manager, Manheim Milwaukee.
ATLANTA – To provide dealers with enhanced service options and a more-efficient auction experience, Manheim is putting the finishing touches on a comprehensive, three-year, $4.6 million investment plan to benefit its three Chicago-area locations: Manheim Chicago, Manheim Arena Illinois and Manheim Milwaukee.
Today, the three facilities – located within 100 miles of each other – deliver triple the buying power with 47 lanes running nearly 10,000 vehicles per week, offering from salvage to highline and every price point in between.
“We are looking at everything from our physical space, to our marketing programs, to innovative end-to-end inventory solutions services and tools to help our clients sell and source inventory faster, gain efficiency and drive success,” said Mike Cesta, general manager, Manheim Chicago. “In less than a 90-minute drive, clients can easily tap our many services and inventory.”
Some of the region’s broadened services and improved operations include:
Last year, Manheim Chicago opened a new facility and hired 50 team members to pilot Manheim Retail Advantage, providing dealers with greater access to high-quality services that produce retail-ready vehicles. Today the operation services 180-240 vehicles per week, offering acquisition, retail reconditioning, detail, merchandising and transportation support. The success of the Chicago-based pilot program helped pave the way for eight additional Retail Advantage locations now opening across North America and plans for future growth.
Manheim Chicago recently used double blocking to grow lane capacity from 14 to 23, and added a Thursday p.m. and Total Resource Auction (TRA) sale to its offerings, giving dealers access to more than 4,000 vehicles on a sale day.
To accommodate increasing inventory and ensure optimal flow of vehicles:
Manheim Chicago is expanding its paved footprint to 215 acres by black topping 30 additional acres to accommodate 8,000 additional vehicles and room for further growth.
Manheim Milwaukee is developing a four-acre property to provide additional sale-day parking to meet dealer demand.
Manheim Milwaukee and Manheim Arena Illinois recently invested in new arena floors, providing a more comfortable experience for clients and better backdrop for vehicles passing through the lanes.
Manheim Arena Illinois recently upgraded to LED lights under its canopy to save about 289,000 kilowatts of electrical power annually and enhance visibility of the vehicles staged to go on the block.
Additionally, as part of Manheim North America’s $300 million investment into its auction network to make things easier, faster and more efficient for customers and employees, Manheim Milwaukee was recently selected to pilot Manheim’s auction design of the future and will be remodeled in 2017.
“All of our regional investments are designed to help our dealers, to add value and support their business growth,” said John Olejniczak, general manager, Manheim Milwaukee. “With our three locations and strong teams, no one knows our local dealers better. We can anticipate their needs and deliver the best that Manheim has to offer.”
