"As we are getting to know our client’s needs, we are adjusting operations to fit the local dealer culture and provide a hometown feel while delivering Manheim’s signature brand of customer service,” -- Randy Beil, VP of Local/Mobile for Manheim
As part of its strategy to expand into underserved markets in the U.S., Manheim is celebrating the grand opening of Manheim Little Rock on March 15. The decision to open Manheim Little Rock – the company’s first location in Arkansas – was based in large part on dealer demand and proximity to Manheim’s existing locations in surrounding states.
“Our goal is to quickly fill a void that has long existed in this area,” says Randy Beil, vice president of Local/Mobile at Manheim. “We hope to do this by focusing on the efficient processing of client vehicles in a collaborative environment that mirrors the look and feel of other traditional locations.”
Dealers welcomed Manheim Little Rock with excitement and anticipation registering a week in advance of its January inaugural sale. The event hosted some 260 onsite bidders and 110 online buyers haggling over a wide selection of inventory presented by the three-lane wholesale remarketing operation.
The Manheim Little Rock team currently includes four full-time staff members who offer wash and vacuum services, as well as post-sale inspections for the three largest dealers in the area – Steve Landers Group, Everett Buick GMC and Superior Chevrolet.
“As we are getting to know our client’s needs, we are adjusting operations to fit the local dealer culture and provide a hometown feel while delivering Manheim’s signature brand of customer service,” said Beil. “For example, we will begin offering free local inbound transportation to make it easier for clients to get us their vehicles as early as possible. We’re confident adjustments like this will help us gain momentum as we establish ourselves in the market.”
The Manheim Little Rock facility is located at 5809 S. University Avenue. Sale day is Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and typically features trucks and vehicles ranging from $500 - $15k in value.
In 2016, Manheim also invested in three other similar small-sized Manheim locations in Cleveland, Norfolk and Wichita. Additional locations are expected to open in Des Moines, Lubbock, TX, and other cities in the coming months.
