Served With Love: Ronald McDonald House Charities

For the past 12 years, hundreds of Manheim team members have served thousands of families with the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

 

Within the past six months alone, various teams from the East to the West Coast have rolled up theirsleeves and poured out their hearts to serve meals, host collection drives and raise funds so that familiescan be close to each other as their sick children get the care and resources they need at RonaldMcDonald Houses.

 

In Pittsburgh, some Manheim team members traveled to the Ronald McDonald House to shop, prepare,cook and clean up for 50 family members staying at the house. On the menu was homemade food likechicken and gravy with biscuits, roasted red skin potatoes, mixed green salad and freshly bakedchocolate chip cookies – and there were enough leftovers to feed an additional 40 people in the home.The group enjoyed the opportunity so much that they plan to collect funds and help purchase one ortwo new commercial ovens for the home!

 

In Manheim Southern California, the TRA and Specialty departments teamed up to host a fundraiserbenefiting the Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda, CA. The team got together and served a deliciousmeal to families, too.

 

In the Southwest, Manheim Nevada team members included RMHC as one of their three communityoutreach events in March 2017, while in the Southeast, Manheim North Carolina raised more than$5,000 as a corporate sponsor last year.

 

Throughout 2016, Manheim Milwaukee team members collected aluminum tabs to make a largedonation at the end of Q1 2017. Funds donated from the collection of tabs are used to help coverRMHC’s daily operating expenses. Other Manheim auction sites in St. Louis, Pennsylvania, Riverside andEl Paso have collected more than 150 pounds of tabs so far this year.
