Manheim Nevada’s Good Deeds Honored by City of North Las Vegas
City Proclaims Day of Recognition

North Las Vegas Mayor John Jay Lee proclaimed Jan. 6, 2017, Manheim Nevada Day in recognition of the company’s contributions to the community. The designation was made due to the location’s commitment to serving its employees, the environment and the community, as well as being such a strong community partner that supports the growth and vitality of the city.

The honor was announced at a ceremony in which Mayor Lee presented a framed copy of the proclamation to Eddie Lafferty, general manager of Manheim Nevada.

"Being a strong community partner is in Manheim Nevada's DNA, and we are humbled to be recognized by Mayor Lee for our contributions to the City of North Las Vegas. Mayor Lee's leadership and focus on forging strong partnerships with local businesses fuels the continued progress and exceptional vibrance of this great city,” said Lafferty.

In 2016 alone, the location’s employees gave back to the community in numerous ways, including:

  • Collecting 625lbs of food for the local food bank in the company’s “Drive Away Hunger” food drive.
  • Hosting three blood drives and raising $4,780 for the local chapter of the American Red Cross.
  • Supporting the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s “Back to School Night,” with employees collecting and donating 1000 boxes of crayons and coloring pencils.
  • Painting a fire truck for North Las Vegas to use for Pink Heals.
  • Holding a toy drive in December and collected 182 toys to donate to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program and St. Jude’s Ranch for Children.

Additionally, Manheim Nevada unveiled a solar installation in 2016, which produces 62 percent of the facility’s energy and prevents 1,270 tons of carbon from entering the environment.

Manheim Nevada has had a presence in North Las Vegas for 20 years. It began operations in 2006.
