“At Manheim, our Logistics team is all about delivering the best client experience and ensuring that high-performing, competitively priced carriers are moving more inventory,” added Brennan. “The result is that clients get their vehicles faster and more efficiently, enabling them to more quickly sell their inventory and generate revenue.”
GILBERT, AZ – Last year more dealers and commercial clients seeking better ways to transport vehicles and save money turned to Manheim’s Ready Logistics and Central Dispatch. Ready Logistics, a full-service logistics provider, moved more than two million vehicles, achieving a 14 percent year-over-year increase -- making 2017 its best year ever. That growth can be attributed to the company’s ability to provide seamless transportation solutions, value-added integrations and an exceptional experience for clients seeking white glove transportation service. In addition, Central Dispatch, a self-managed platform, supported 6.7 million vehicle moves, demonstrating an increase of 34 percent year-over-year.
In-lane or digitally, Ready Logistics connects automotive dealers, auctions, commercial clients and car owners with a nationwide network of more than 6,500 carriers. Supported by a best-in-class technology platform, the full-service provider helps clients simplify the vehicle movement process and reduce the time needed to transport vehicles.
“Clients want reliable transportation services that deliver efficiencies and peace of mind -- and that’s what Ready does,” said Patrick Brennan, senior vice president of Marketplace and Logistics for Manheim. “In 2017, we saw an increase in new clients, retention rates were higher and -- most telling -- the number of vehicles moved per client increased by 30 percent.”
In 2017 alone, Ready Logistics introduced several value-added solutions and integrations, including:
Central Dispatch, a self-managed transportation network that connects shippers and carriers via a centralized communication platform, also saw significant growth in 2017. In addition to shippers increasing the number of vehicle moves requested by 34 percent, the value of that transportation service increased to $3.3 billion, which was up 42 percent over the prior year. Central Dispatch also experienced a 12 percent increase in subscriptions over 2016, ending the year with 21,600+ members. Dealer subscribers, specifically, increased a strong 21 percent year-over-year.
