Manheim Statesville and its employees have raised more than $58,000 for the local chapter of Relay for Life over the past two years. So far in 2014, more than $23,000 has been raised.
In the spirit of giving back to the local community, Manheim Statesville employees formed a team to participate in the local American Cancer Society Relay For Life in 2013. In addition to participation in the annual Relay For Life, the employees organized a raffle this summer that raised funds for the charity. As part of the fundraiser for Relay for Life, a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo LT was awarded to a local dealer at the conclusion of the raffle on Aug. 29.
A total of 377 tickets were sold that collected nearly $7,000.
In addition to the raffle, employees raised funds through a golf tournament, silent auctions for Valentine’s Day and Easter and employee Dori Bright cutting off 14 inches of her hair for a donation to locks of love.
