Jay Cadigan Named Vice President, Industry Relations At Manheim
Industry Veteran Brings Deep Experience, Expertise to New Role

To advance its business goals, continue to build relations with industry partners and develop strategies that further the remarketing industry, Manheim named Jay Cadigan vice president, industry relations. In this new role, Cadigan will report to Joe George, senior vice president of product development. Cadigan is responsible for building and maintaining strong relations with Manheim’s partners across the industry. He will lead Manheim’s strategic efforts to develop, promote and establish consistent standards, processes and policies that achieve business objectives and further the industry.

Prior to this new role, Cadigan has held a variety of leadership positions within Manheim. For the past six years, he has served as market vice president for Florida and Puerto Rico where he oversaw the day-to-day activities of the 12 locations in that market. From 2003 to 2006, he spent three years in a corporate role as vice president of sales and operations for the General Motors and Avis Budget Group accounts. Before that, Cadigan was general manager of Skyline Auto Exchange (now Manheim NY Metro Skyline) in Fairfield, N.J., a position he held for 11 years.

“With the marketplace rapidly evolving, Manheim needs our best and brightest charting the course as we move forward,” said George. “Jay is a 36-year-veteran of the automotive industry who has worked not only in the auction business, but also as an executive in the leasing and rental car remarketing businesses. His deep and diverse professional and leadership experiences make him the ideal choice to lead our industry relations strategy.” Cadigan is a past president of the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA), and he is currently a member of NAAA’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors, serving as executive vice president.

Cadigan will play a critical role in advancing several key business initiatives for Manheim.  The company is committed to improving the consistency of vehicle condition information across the remarketing industry; it has taken an important step in that direction by sharing its patented electronic condition report writing system, including AutoGrade, with the industry. Manheim recognizes that standardized vehicle condition information makes it easier for buyers to do business, which builds trust in the entire industry by improving transparency in the marketplace.

Manheim is also focused on enhancing its marketplace exchange processes by preparing for a multiplatform future where the same vehicles are for sale across Manheim’s and competitors’ channels. In addition, the company is working with key partners to evolve arbitration processes and polices across the entire industry. Cadigan will champion all of these important efforts.

“I’m very excited to join the Product Development team and to be a part of the next evolution of the vehicle remarketing industry – in the U.S. and globally,” said Cadigan. “We have a fantastic opportunity to leverage our digital and in-lane assets to attract more business and to tap into non-traditional sources of sales as we also expand our leadership role in the industry by standardizing condition information, improving the customer experience and readying ourselves for a multiplatform future. We expect that Manheim’s enhanced focus on industry relations will have a positive impact on our operations and support the greater good of the remarketing industry as a whole.”
