The newest class of dealers graduate at The 100th wholesale institute session

ATLANTA – The Wholesale Institute (TWI), Manheim’s free traveling workshop series that helps dealers achieve profit goals through online wholesaling, recently celebrated its 100th session in Chicago, Ill.  Dealers who completed TWI’s April 7th milestone session – celebrated during National Dealer Automotive Career Month – joined hundreds of prior graduates in gaining new online skills to stay ahead of real-world technology changes and challenges in the remarketing industry.

“From mobile apps to advanced vehicle search, buying and selling online is a constantly evolving science,” says Amanda Savage, customer relations director, Manheim Online Solutions as well as head of TWI.  “Keeping up to speed with how these new tools and technologies can dramatically impact used vehicle operations profitability is just one of the many key learnings we offer dealers at every workshop.”

Today’s dealers know the importance of integrating a competitive online buying and selling strategy, especially during the exceptionally strong used vehicle market.  With the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index up a record 13 percent year over year, buying and selling “right” is more important than ever to a dealership’s bottom line.

More than 1600 dealers have already attended a TWI workshop where they learned how to create trusted vehicle listings that sell and the value of accurate condition reports.  In addition to a thorough understanding of new online tools and techniques, TWI participants also take home knowledge that helps build transparency, trust and profitability throughout the wholesale auction industry.

“Online buyers have to believe that the vehicle they are considering is exactly what the seller claims it to be,” says Savage.  “Building that level of trust throughout the entire remarketing channel has long been a top priority at Manheim, and we believe that TWI is an excellent conduit for setting and sharing industry-wide high standards.”

Savage says that another TWI benefit is its ability to serve as a feedback loop for Manheim product and services development.  As each workshop’s curriculum evolves, depending on the unique needs of attending dealers, attendees bring real-world issues and challenges fresh from the showroom or used car lot.

“The Wholesale Institute is not only a great forum for customer education, but an opportunity to gather customer insight and feedback,” says Savage.  “I enjoy bringing it back to our Atlanta-based product teams as we strive to continually improve our customers’ experiences.”

Dealers interested in participating in a free upcoming TWI workshop are invited to visit The Wholesale Institute online at www.thewholesaleinstitute.com where they can learn more about TWI, check out upcoming workshop locations and dates, and register to attend.
