TORONTO, Aug. 5, 2013 – Looking to extend a helping hand to their neighbours in Calgary, the team at Manheim Edmonton and Source Auto Auction is offering a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette convertible to raise funds for flood relief. Donated by the auction’s CEO, Danny Fayad, the car gives dealers a chance to win a “dream ride” and provide some much needed financial support.
Any dealer who makes a $1,000 donation to help the flood victims between now and Aug. 28 will be entered into a draw for a chance to win the ultimate sports car. The draw is slated for Aug. 29 during the auction’s “Hot August Auction” sale, which will no doubt prove to be an ideal event to cruise home from with the top down.
Fayad, who recently entered into a financial partnership with Manheim Canada making the location Manheim’s first Western Canada venture, had been looking for a way to help. “We all know people affected by the tragic flooding in the Calgary area,” Fayad said, “My heart goes out to them. As I heard customers telling stories of the hardship experienced by their friends, families and employees, I wanted to do something.”
