MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, January 6, 2010 – Manheim Canada has announced that it will support compliance of the Ontario Motor Vehicles Dealers Act (OMVDA) at all of its locations, including those outside the Province of Ontario. As a result, Manheim Canada has modified its National Arbitration policy to be consistent with the OMVDA requirements and established a revised National Sellers Declaration policy. |

Legislated by the Province and enforced by the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC), the OMVDA requires sellers at all levels of the used vehicle supply chain to provide specific declarations related to a vehicle’s history. Effective as of Jan. 1, 2010, the new legislation helps protect consumers when purchasing used vehicles. |

“While the act currently applies to dealers doing business in Ontario, our company has decided to support compliance of this act throughout all of our locations, using this legislation as a baseline to conduct business in Canada,” said Patrick Brennan, vice president, Canadian Operations. “This means that whenever a customer sells a car at a Manheim location or online in Canada, the seller will need to comply with the new Seller Declarations in accordance with our new policies.” |

To make the changes easier for customers, Manheim Canada has developed the template and technology needed for seamless digital transfer of vehicle history information between larger commercial sellers and its Canadian locations. The company also has developed a universal manual document to ensure accurate data collection for smaller consignors and dealers not using electronic file transfer. |
