Total resource auctions hosts premier It 2008 ─ industry technology and training conference
Two-day event held at Manheim DRIVE to offer industry-leading, innovative workshops

ATLANTA – Mark your calendars for one of the most spectacular and informative events of the year as Total Resource Auctions hosts the 2008 Industry Technology and Training (IT) Conference, May 16-17 at Manheim Drive in Stockbridge, Ga.

The highly anticipated IT event features exciting, imaginative and entertaining programs that attendees have come to expect from Weaver Productions and the conference’s founder.

“I have been in the industry for more than 30 years, and I believe that this will be the most magnificent show that auto recyclers and others will ever see,” said Bill Weaver, director and producer, IT 2008. “We have partnered with leading companies to provide interesting exhibits and training sessions, we are bringing in top entertainers, and Manheim DRIVE provides the ultimate venue to display this show. IT 2008 is a terrific way to gain industry knowledge, take advantage of valuable networking opportunities and have some fun at the same time.”

The eighth annual conference, themed “Reunion, Revival, and Review,” offers extensive and unique hands-on training opportunities set in an exciting, casual and festive atmosphere.  Seminars, workshops and live demos provide an in-depth education for auto recyclers across all areas of the industry. Key industry leaders also will share insights and best practices that provide innovative business solutions.

Attendees can network and reconnect over food, refreshments and live entertainment from award-winning blues artist Mike Watson and MWB. NASCAR great Harry Gant will also be on hand to meet and greet conference-goers.

“We are extremely proud to host the IT 2008 Conference at Manheim DRIVE, our leading- edge, research and development center,” said Bill Tiedemann, vice president and general manager, Total Resource Auctions.   “This amazing facility is the perfect spot to showcase the latest developments in the recycling, salvage and auto body repair areas.  I know the attendees will find it extremely worthwhile.”

Additionally, IT 2008 will conduct a live auction with a portion of the proceeds going to several charities and associations, including ARA Educational Foundation, Manheim’s Heart to Hearts Program and Georgia Automotive Recyclers Association.

All conference programs take place at a single location -- Manheim DRIVE -- a one-of-a-kind event and training facility.

Each day, attendees will experience 12 hours of simultaneous events with a special focus on “green” efforts, including:

• Latest fluid evacuation methods

• Innovative tire removal techniques
