Teams set $35K fundraising goal to begin first Girl Talk Camp in Florida
ATLANTA, May 17, 2017 - This week, 14 Manheim locations in the Southeast Region are hosting Girl Talk Week, a week of fundraising activities to support Girl Talk, an organization that inspires girls to develop the confidence to lead. Together, these teams hope to raise $35,000 to host Girl Talk’s first camp in Florida.
The participating Southeast Region locations include: Manheim Atlanta, Manheim Georgia, Manheim Metro Atlanta, Manheim Orlando, Manheim Central Florida, Manheim Daytona, Manheim Jacksonville, Manheim Pensacola, Manheim Lakeland, Manheim Tampa, Manheim St. Pete, Manheim Ft. Myers, Manheim Ft. Lauderdale and Manheim Palm Beach.
To support the effort, each team is partnering with dealers to collect donations; planning to host sale day events like bake sales, silent auctions and car washes; and raising awareness with onsite signage and décor.
“More than 20 of our clients have already agreed to donate a portion of their sell fee or a lump sum to support our efforts, and we hope to generate even more engagement with fun activities like a bake sale and raffle this week,” said Mark Ford, Regional Vice President of the Southeast.
Girl Talk outlines 11 different sponsorship opportunities that can help make a difference, ranging from $35 to sponsor a girl for the school year up to $5,000 to fully fund five Girl Talk chapters for one school year.
Founded in 2002 by author and motivational speaker Haley Kilpatrick, Girl Talk is an international non-profit peer-to-peer mentoring program pair high school mentors with middle school girls to help them cope more effectively with prevalent issues during their formative teenage years.
